Tupelo Wood Residence
The owners of this Newbury Park home wanted a bright and spacious kitchen with lots of storage, but there was one issue, we weren’t adding any square footage to the home. We also couldn’t alter the main wall, due to it being a shear wall. Issues like these require problem solving and careful space planning in order to create the perfect design for the space. This kitchen is now a beautiful, bright space with tons of storage and specialty items like a pull-out mixer stand, pull-out full pantry, and corner Lazy Susan cabinet. The refrigerator that was once cramping the entrance was relocated to a better spot. This allowed for the cooking area to become bigger with countertops on both sides and deep drawers. We even added a custom movable, eat-at island that’s the perfect size and completes the space beautifully.
We also gave a facelift to the fireplace in the adjacent family room and created a new media wall that better suits the space. The original flooring was also replace and carried through all the rooms downstairs as well as up the stairs. This home now has a fresh new look that the homeowners can enjoy for years to come.
Environmentally friendly materials used in this project include, KCMA Environmental Stewardship Program cabinetry, GreenGuard Gold Certified vinyl plank flooring, reclaimed wood, sustainable mango wood, USA made products and low VOC paint.
Alicia created a stunning and functional kitchen design. She recommended beautiful floors that we carried throughout the house and updated our fireplace/living area. She incorporated unique design elements that personalized our space and gave it that “professional designer touch.” Most importantly, she instilled confidence with her calm, professional demeanor and helped us navigate through several obstacles that we faced during our remodel. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome!!
