Lynn Ranch Manzanas Residence
This beautiful kitchen makes the most of the existing space for the family of four. These clients wanted their small, dated kitchen to meet the needs of a busy family while also being light, inviting and compatible with the California Ranch Style architecture of the house. The top three main complaints the clients had with their current kitchen were: congestion, not enough storage and inadequate lighting. The clients enjoy cooking and entertaining, so the first order of business was to remove a wall to allow for better traffic mobility throughout the kitchen. Next, I designed a layout that would supply ample storage with deep drawers, customized pullouts and a built-in pantry. We also had soffits removed and the ceiling raised to match the higher ceiling lines in the adjacent hallways. Adding recessed lighting, pendant lighting, under cabinet and interior cabinet lighting went a long way to brighten the space, as well as adding light colored surfaces, and replacing the existing window and family room slider. The end result was a welcoming, highly functional and classic kitchen that this family can enjoy for years to come.
