What a fun master bathroom to design!

My clients wanted to remodel their outdated master bathroom with a design that both updated the space and reflected their personalities. This space had some unique challenges such as the small size and L-shape, not to mention the exterior sliding door in the shower that leads to the backyard. The homeowners asked me for a design that had lots of storage.  What I created for them is both fun and zen, with storage galore. A space that ties beautifully into the rest of their home and surroundings, providing them with a luxurious spa feel in their own home.

To create the feel of spaciousness, we removed the ceiling soffit and added custom cabinetry from floor to ceiling. Due to the small size, we opted for one sink which enabled us to maximize storage.  The custom, white oak cabinetry has roll-out shelves and drawers, hidden outlets and organizers. The vanity sink, countertop, backsplash and shower walls are all made of beautiful quartz slabs. To enhance the spa-like feel, feet are kept toasty warm with radiant heat under the porcelain tile floor, while towels are kept at a cozy temperature on the towel warmer rack.

Environmentally friendly materials used in this project include, FSC wood for cabinetry, California made CAL-Green Compliant plumbing fixtures, GreenGuard Certified quartz countertops and low VOC paint.

Alicia presented us with a design for our bathroom that was both beautiful and ingenious. Using essentially the original footprint, she transformed a rather small and very tired (ca. 1966!) master bath into a showpiece that stands on its own and blends seamlessly with the rest of our home.  It’s simply gorgeous! Her warm and pleasant personality makes Alicia a total pleasure to work with, and her design skills and aesthetic sensibilities are exceptional. Alicia was incredibly organized and, from beginning to end, was always timely in responding to our questions and concerns, and always available whenever we needed her. We are thrilled with the results of her efforts!
